Food and drink festivals in Korea

Korea's food festivals are regional showcases. The best known are rice in Icheon, bibimbap in Jeonju, ginseng in Geumsan and Punggi, green tea in Boseong, coffee in Gangneung and chicken-and-beer in Daegu. Summer adds tomatoes in Hwacheon and grapes in Yeongdong. October brings seafood at Busan's Jagalchi Market, pine mushrooms and salmon in Yangyang, dumplings in Wonju, jjamppong in Gunsan, Gwangju's World Kimchi Festival, Gimcheon's gimbap festival and Jeonju's makgeolli nights, and around the turn of November come barbecue in Hongseong, mackerel on Busan's Songdo Beach and the southern dishes of Haenam's Minam festival. November is for kimchi-making in Goesan, ramyeon in Gumi, yuzu in Goheung, tteokbokki in Sunchang, Jangdan beans in Paju, yellowtail at Moseulpo, gwamegi at Guryongpo and kimchi with bossam in Jinan. Most have free entry, with food priced per stall.
