Festivals on Jeju

Jeju's festivals grow out of island life: the fire festival at Saebyeol Oreum in March, from the old custom of burning off dead pasture; the Seogwipo Canola Flower Festival on a weekend in late March or early April, when the Noksan-ro road through Gasi-ri is lined with canola and often cherry blossom; the summer Iho Tewoo beach festival, named after the traditional raft; the Tamna Culture Festival in October, with its parade and dance-drama; the Seogwipo Chilsimni Festival's parade by Cheonjiyeon Falls in autumn and the Jeju Horse Festival at the racecourse on the fourth weekend of October; the Jeju Olle walking festival on the island's coastal trails in November; and the yellowtail festival at Moseulpo port in late November.
