Festivals in Sejong

Sejong holds the Sejong Hangeul Festival, a free celebration of King Sejong and the Korean alphabet that opens every year on Hangeul Day, 9 October, and runs for three or four days in Sejong Lake Park and Sejong Central Park, with drone shows and fireworks. Its neighbours add more: Daejeon holds a science festival in mid-April; Gongju, to the south-west, shares the Baekje Cultural Festival with Buyeo from late September to mid-October; and Cheongju, east of Osong Station, hosts the Craft Biennale every two years from early September. All three are nearby.
