What it is like
The expo is a five-day garden show in November, staged in and around Baramoru Park in Jeju Innovation City, the planned district in Seoho-dong on the western side of Seogwipo that houses relocated public agencies. It is hosted by the Korea Forest Service, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Seogwipo City, and run by the province and the city. The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) calls it the first garden culture expo held in Jeju, and says the aim is to show gardens built from the island's own landscape and culture and to spread garden culture, with Seogwipo working towards becoming a garden city. The slogan, 돌담 사이 바람의 숨결, 정원으로 피어나다, means roughly "the breath of the wind between stone walls blooms into gardens".
The centrepiece is the Korea Garden Show, the Korea Forest Service's garden design competition. For Jeju the theme is "Jeju's breath: soil, stone, wind and K-garden"; entries were taken from 20 July to 18 August 2026, and five gardens by professional designers were to be chosen, each about 100 m² and each given ₩50 million to build. Around them are participating gardens, gardens made by Jeju residents and corporate gardens.
The culture programme lists a Garden Concert, a Garden Cinema and a Garden Live Talk Show, an opening ceremony and a welcome programme, and family games such as a plant-name quiz, a Garden Golden Bell quiz and a children's bubble show. A garden industry section has a garden market and booths selling garden supplies. Alongside the expo, tours and visits to private gardens around Jeju are planned.
The honest caveats: almost everything here comes from KTO's listing and a July 2026 news report, because the official site could not be opened, and no daily timetable, site map, shuttle or parking plan had been found by 19 October 2026. A July report placed the competition gardens at Samda Sports Park in Seoho-dong, so the site may spread beyond Baramoru Park itself. Jeju has no trains, and the site is about 1 h 30 min from Jeju Airport by limousine bus. In November the south coast can be windy, and almost everything is outdoors.

Who it suits. Best for garden lovers, landscape-design fans and families already in southern Jeju in early November who want a free daytime outing; less suited to anyone who needs English-language programming, or to visitors based in Jeju City without a car, since the site is about 1 h 30 min from Jeju Airport by limousine bus.
Getting there
From Seoul
Fly from Gimpo to Jeju International Airport (scheduled about 1 h 15 min, with dozens of flights a day). Jeju has no trains. At the airport take limousine bus 600 from limousine stop 8, by gate 5, signed for Seogwipo; it runs via the Jungmun hotels, ICC Jeju and Gangjeong. Get off at the Seogwipo World Cup Stadium stop (₩5,000), about 1 h 30 min from the airport. The bus runs throughout the day, but the timetable in force in November 2026 was not checked. The expo site in Jeju Innovation City lies north-east of the stadium: finish on foot or by taxi. Buses 645, 655, 691 and 692, among others, stop at the 국토교통인재개발원 stops about 205–222 m from the venue.
From Busan
Fly from Gimhae (Busan) to Jeju International Airport, then limousine bus 600 to the Seogwipo World Cup Stadium stop as above.
From Incheon Airport
Most travellers transfer to Gimpo Airport on the AREX airport railroad for the frequent Gimpo–Jeju flights, then continue from Jeju International Airport by limousine bus 600 as above.
Festival shuttle
No expo shuttle had been announced on the pages opened as of 19 October 2026; the official site, jeju-garden-expo.kr, could not be opened. Limousine bus 800 links Jeju Bus Terminal and the airport with Seogwipo Bus Terminal without passing through Jungmun.
Getting home
Jeju has no trains. The expo closes at 19:00 (KTO). The limousine 600 timetable in force in November 2026, including the last bus from the World Cup Stadium stop back to the airport, was not checked: check it at the stop or at the airport bus information desk before you go, allow about 1 h 30 min for the return, and plan to stay the night on Jeju unless you have a late flight.
Parking
Parking for the expo had not been published on the pages opened as of 19 October 2026.
How to switch Naver Map and Kakao Map to English
Google Maps shows train, subway and bus routes in Korea but not walking or driving directions yet, so for the walk from the station Naver Map or Kakao Map is more reliable.
Before you go
1330 · Travel hotline
The Korea Tourism Organization’s helpline answers in English, Japanese and Chinese around the clock, and in several other languages from 08:00 to 19:00. Dial 1330 from a Korean phone, or +82-2-1330 from a phone registered abroad.
112 / 119 · Emergencies
112 for police, 119 for fire and ambulance. Both are free from any phone. Police on 112 can add an English or Chinese interpreter to the call.
T-money card
Buy one at a convenience store such as GS25, CU or 7-Eleven and top it up there with cash. It pays for subways and buses in most cities, and for most taxis.
Maps
Use Naver Map or Kakao Map for walking and bus directions; Google Maps does not yet give walking directions in Korea. Both apps can be switched to English. Naver Map: Menu (≡) → Settings → Language (Japanese and Chinese also available). Kakao Map: Menu (≡) → Settings → App settings → Language. If the option is missing, change your phone’s language and reopen the app. Small shop names and some reviews stay in Korean.
Trains and buses
Book trains on Korail’s English site and express buses on Kobus. Holiday weekends sell out first.

Before or after the festival
Places you can fit in before or after the festival without missing the shuttle or the last train or bus back.
A 22 m waterfall dropping into a deep pool at the head of a forested valley in Seogwipo's old town, by the harbour, with a walkway lit up after dark. It suits the end of the day: the expo closes at 19:00 and the falls stay open until 22:00 (last entry 21:20; adult ₩2,000), so you see them at night. Before you go, check the last limousine 600 back to the airport at the stop: its November timetable was not checked.
