먹고, 놀고, 모으면 시장을 즐기는 재미가 한 번 더 돌아온다. 2025년 인증 전국 최우수 야시장 ‘백년나이트’가 2026년 10월 30일부터 31일까지 오후 4시부터 9시까지 서울 강북구 백년시장에서 열린다. 이번 행사는 10월 말의 오싹한 분위기를 담은 ‘WICKED’를 테마로, 익숙한 시장 골목을 기묘하고 유쾌한 가을밤의 놀이터로 바꾼다.
백년나이트의 핵심은 시장에서의 구매와 놀이를 연결하는 ‘수백이’ 시스템이다. 백년시장에서 3,000원 이상 구매한 영수증을 제시하거나 현장 미션과 이벤트, 특별한 테마의 참여형 콘텐츠를 즐기며 '수백이'를 모을 수 있다. 백년나이트 굿즈, 백년시장 상품권, 백년주막 막걸리 키트, 디지털 온누리상품권 등으로 교환할 수 있으며, 칵테일은 횟수 제한 없이 교환해 즐길 수 있다. 시장에서 먹고 마시고, 골목에서 게임을 즐기는 경험이 다시 혜택으로 돌아오는 구조로, 시장 곳곳을 탐색하는 재미를 더한다.
먹거리에도 백년시장만의 개성을 담았다. 시장의 감성을 담아 기획한 ‘백년주막’ 막걸리와 백년칵테일바의 시그니처 음료를 비롯해 시장 점포, 푸드트럭, 이동식 매대에서 다양한 간식과 안주를 즐길 수 있다. DJ 음악과 퍼포먼스가 펼쳐지는 스테이지, 먹거리와 함께 쉬어가는 푸드라운지, 일행과 둘러앉는 테이블존, 게임에 참여하는 플레이벙커를 오가며 각자의 취향대로 밤을 즐긴다.
음악을 고르는 즐거움도 방문객의 몫이다. ‘백년신청곡’은 현장 QR코드로 듣고 싶은 노래를 신청하면 운영 상황과 재생 순서에 따라 시장 전 구역에 송출하는 프로그램이다. 내가 고른 한 곡이 시장 골목을 채우고, 서로 다른 테이블의 사람들이 같은 음악을 즐긴다. DJ 스테이지에서는 전문 페스티벌 DJ가 선보이는 음악으로 현장의 열기를 더한다.
시장 골목에서 맛있는 한 끼를 즐기고, 구매와 놀이로 모은 '수백이'로 상품과 칵테일로 바꾸고, 신청곡을 함께 들으며 새로운 일행을 만나는 밤. 백년나이트는 전통시장의 정겨움에 놀이와 음악, 만남을 더해 방문객이 직접 완성하는 야시장이다.

112 for police, 119 for fire and ambulance. Both are free from any phone. Police on 112 can add an English or Chinese interpreter to the call.
Buy one at a convenience store such as GS25, CU or 7-Eleven and top it up there with cash. It pays for subways and buses in most cities, and for most taxis.
Use Naver Map or Kakao Map for walking and bus directions; Google Maps does not yet give walking directions in Korea. Both apps can be switched to English. Naver Map: Menu (≡) → Settings → Language (Japanese and Chinese also available). Kakao Map: Menu (≡) → Settings → App settings → Language. If the option is missing, change your phone’s language and reopen the app. Small shop names and some reviews stay in Korean.
Book trains on Korail’s English site and express buses on Kobus. Holiday weekends sell out first.

The Nowon Moonlight Walk is a free public-art light festival along Danghyeoncheon stream in Nowon-gu, northern Seoul, where about 30 light sculptures by Korean artists line the stream path after dark. The 7th edition, 'New Moon', runs 16 October–8 November 2026, lit daily from 17:30 to 22:00.
The Namsan Night Festival is a free, booking-only evening festival run by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in Namsan Park, in the centre of Seoul, on Fridays and Saturdays from 23 October to 14 November 2026. It has three parts: Campnic picnic pitches with live music and open-air films on the lawn of Baekbeom Square (17:00–22:00 on six evenings to 7 November), guided Autumn Foliage Walks of 3.8–4.2 km on 23–24 October and 6–7 November, and a silent-disco Palgak Club by N Seoul Tower on 14 November.
Gwanghwamun Market (광화문 마켓) is Seoul's free Christmas market: a European-style "Santa Village" of red-roofed stalls, a 15 m tree, photo zones and a carousel on Gwanghwamun Square, run every evening by the Seoul Tourism Organization since 2022. The 2026 edition is scheduled for 11 December 2026–10 January 2027; daily hours are not yet published (17:30–22:00 in 2025).
