活動特色
光州雙年展是韓國歷史最悠久的當代藝術雙年展，1995年由韓國西南部、5·18民主化運動的發生地光州創辦；第1屆以中外公園為主場地，吸引超過165萬人次參觀。如今由光州雙年展財團負責籌辦，通常每兩年舉辦一次：主展設在北區龍鳳洞專為雙年展興建的光州雙年展展覽館，各國、城市與藝術機構籌設的參展館（Pavilion）則散布在市內各處場地。
第16屆「你必須改變你的生活」（너는 네 삶을 바꿔야 한다）的標題，取自萊納·瑪利亞·里爾克1908年一首詩的最後一句。藝術總監為新加坡出生的藝術家何子彥，與Che Kyongfa、Gahee Park和Brian Kuan Wood共同策展，展期2026年9月5日至11月15日，共72天。主展只在展覽館內舉行，規模刻意精簡：來自22個國家的43位（組）藝術家，是雙年展史上最少的一屆，許多藝術家都展出多件作品。五個展廳依「變化的尺度」展開，依序為分子、個人、系統、宇宙，第5展廳則以社群、兒童與俱樂部為主題，直通雙年展廣場，免門票即可入內。展出作品包括Goldin+Senneby在地面上鋪灑的約2噸松脂，以及五月母親之家（오월어머니집）成員的322幅畫作；每晚19:00至21:00，James T. Hong的作品「Apple」會投影在展覽館外牆上。
主展之外，來自27個國家、城市與機構的28個參展館分布在五個區。其中約十個位於南區依山而建的老街區楊林洞（양림동）：墨西哥的Casa Wabi設在已有百年歷史的李章雨家屋（이장우 가옥），荷蘭在威爾遜傳教士故居（우일선 선교사 사택），加拿大在Lee Kang-ha美術館（이강하미술관），波蘭則在Lee Lee-nam工作室（이이남 스튜디오）。東區市中心一帶，瑞士與奧地利共用Eunam美術館（은암미술관），菲律賓館設在5·18民主化運動紀錄館，Koganecho（黃金町）參展館在全日大廈245，國立臺灣美術館則在國立亞洲文化殿堂展出。大多數參展館開放時間為10:00–18:00、週一休館，但各館的開放時間與閉展日期不一，請逐館確認。
門票當天最多可再入場5次。韓語導覽從10:00到17:00每個整點在展廳入口出發，英語導覽每週兩場；接駁車往返展覽館與梅谷洞的雙年展停車場，週五至週日另有一條路線開往主要參展館。從首爾搭KTX到光州約2小時，當天來回沒問題，但參展館值得多留一天慢慢看。

從首爾出發
從龍山站（或水西站）搭KTX到光州松汀站，約2小時（2026年9月票價調降後，龍山站出發一般車廂₩42,000）。展覽館位於北區龍鳳洞雙年展路111號，不在光州地鐵1號線沿線，從光州松汀站需轉搭計程車或市區公車。也可從首爾中央城市客運站搭高速巴士到光州U-Square客運站，再轉搭計程車或市區公車。前往市中心的參展館，可搭光州地鐵1號線到文化殿堂站（문화전당）、錦南路4街站或南光州站。
從釜山出發
從釜山西部（沙上）巴士客運站（地鐵2號線沙上站）搭市外巴士到光州U-Square客運站，每天23班，車程2小時57分，優等₩28,300、Premium₩36,800。釜山綜合巴士客運站（老圃，地鐵1號線老圃站）也有班次，每天16班，車程3小時03分，優等₩31,200。抵達U-Square後，再搭計程車或市區公車前往展覽館。
從光州松汀站（KTX），再轉計程車或公車到會場
KTX湖南線。無法步行抵達；需轉搭計程車或市區公車前往北區龍鳳洞的展覽館（公車路線與車程未經查證）
節慶接駁車
展期內，接駁車每天30班往返梅谷洞的光州雙年展停車場與展覽館；週五、週六和週日另有一條路線連接展覽館與主要參展館。查閱的資料未公布時刻表與停靠站。
回程交通
展覽館18:00閉館（James T. Hong的外牆投影為19:00–21:00）。從光州松汀站返回龍山站與水西站的KTX（約2小時），以及光州U-Square客運站開往首爾中央城市客運站的高速巴士都營運到晚上較晚時段，但2026年11月1日起KTX改用新時刻表：請在慶典當天之前透過Korail App（코레일+）或到車站確認末班車。請預留搭計程車或公車回光州松汀站的時間。
停車
參觀地圖上標有光州雙年展停車場，接駁車往返梅谷洞的雙年展停車場與展覽館；查閱的資料未公布車位數與收費。

在不錯過接駁車與回程末班車的前提下，節慶前後可以順道去的地方。
南區依山而建的老街區，古宅和藝廊裡設有2026年約十個參展館，包括設在已有百年歷史的李章雨家屋裡的墨西哥Casa Wabi，以及設在威爾遜傳教士故居的荷蘭館。上午去逛，之後再去展覽館：多數參展館10:00–18:00開放，和展覽館一樣週一休館（威爾遜傳教士故居週二也休館，且需預約）。小提醒：₩10,000的參展館導覽含點心，以及一張可在當地店家使用的₩5,000折價券。
