Notes on the 2024 edition

12 days, 6 programmes, theme '겨울에도 한강으로' (to the Han River, even in winter); about 630,000 visitors by the city's count. After the Jeju Air crash on 29 December, the market's performances and the 31 December cruise were cancelled for the national mourning period (to 4 January); the market and food trucks stayed open. The sledding season drew 141,134 visitors, a record.

About the festival

The Hangang Festival (Winter) is the Seoul city government's year-end run of its Han River parks festival, built around the Romantic Hangang Christmas Market, photo and rest domes, kite flying and the Hangang sledding parks. The 2026 run is planned for 19–27 December in the city's April 2026 schedule, with a winter rest area and kite festival at Yeouido and the Christmas market at Ttukseom, but the programme was not out as of 18 October 2026. Entry is free; the sledding parks charge a small fee (under ₩10,000) and market workshops charge for materials. For Ttukseom take Line 7 to Jayang Station (Exits 2 and 3); for Yeouido, Line 5 to Yeouinaru Station.
