活動特色
虎尾串是浦項最東端的海岬，相當於朝鮮半島的「虎尾」，也是韓國本土每天最早看到日出的地方之一。海邊廣場以為迎接新千禧年而製作的青銅雕塑「相生之手」（상생의 손）聞名：一隻高5.5公尺的左手立在廣場上，一隻高8.5公尺的右手立在海中，天氣晴朗的早晨，太陽就從海中那隻手的旁邊升起。
浦項市自1999年新年起便在這裡舉辦新年日出慶典；2000年和2001年1月1日的慶典為國家指定慶典，2025至26年為第28屆。慶典通宵進行。2025至26年，廣場於12月31日14:00開放，有面具製作、運勢占卜、農產品市集、餐車和快閃店；23:00左右開始跨年前夜表演，接著是投影在虎尾串燈塔上的媒體立面秀、午夜倒數與煙火，以及虎與馬之舞。氣膜帳篷和避寒所讓人們可以通宵等待，裡面有電影放映和「看得見的廣播」節目。1月1日06:50起，有融合國樂、假面舞和走繩表演的祭儀演出，以及浦項新年四字成語的發表，07:33左右迎來日出。免費的年糕湯（韓國新年傳統食物）從07:30起以3,000份調理包的形式發放；2019至20年則發放了10,000份。
2025至26年約有50,000人到場，2023至24年約30,000人。五年中官方活動有四次取消：2020至21年和2021至22年因COVID-19疫情取消，廣場也關閉；2022至23年因COVID-19疫情和防止人潮推擠事故取消；2024至25年因濟州航空空難後的國家哀悼期取消，但仍有約22,000人前來，市政府照常發放年糕湯並設置了悼念空間。
有幾點要先知道：空曠的海岬又冷、風又大（2026年黎明前−6°C，體感溫度約−10°C），雲層經常遮住太陽（2024年就是如此），跨年夜進入海岬的道路會實施管制並嚴重塞車，而且沒有找到從市區出發的接駁車資訊，所以請安排計程車或自駕，並在浦項住一晚。

交通方式
從首爾出發
從首爾站搭KTX到浦項站約2小時20分至2小時30分；水西站也有列車，自2026年9月1日KTX與SRT合併後，兩者都可在韓國鐵道公社（Korail）的App和英文網站上訂票。浦項站位於城市西北邊緣的興海邑，而虎尾串在南區虎尾串面的海岬最東端，所以最後一段請搭計程車；沒有找到慶典接駁車的資訊，市區公車路線和計程車車程本文未查證。從東首爾綜合客運站也有開往浦項客運站的市外巴士。請在交通管制開始前，於12月31日下午之前抵達浦項。
從釜山出發
依2026年10月的時刻表，東海線列車從釜田站開往浦項站，每天7班：KTX-Eum需1小時28分至1小時30分（₩18,100），ITX-Maeum需1小時58分至2小時06分（₩13,900），皆為一般車廂票價。也可從海雲臺市外巴士站搭市外巴士到浦項客運站，大約每小時1班，車程1小時28分，優等₩15,200。之後搭計程車前往虎尾串。1月1日是國定假日，回程前請用Korail+ App（코레일+）或在車站查詢列車，並在客運站查詢巴士。
從浦項站（KTX）到會場

節慶接駁車
在已查閱的2022至23年到2025至26年各屆市政府計畫和新聞報導中，未發現從浦項市區（車站或客運站）開往虎尾串的接駁車，所以請計畫搭計程車或自駕。遊覽車另有停車區：2022至23年的交通計畫在Daecheon橋（대천교）海岸道路上預留了約30輛大型巴士的車位。
回程交通
慶典在日出和年糕湯之後，持續到1月1日09:00左右。從浦項站搭KTX到首爾站約2小時20分至2小時30分，但轉載2026年10月時刻表的第三方網站顯示，白天浦項開往首爾站的列車間隔很長（該網站似乎只列出部分車次），2027年1月1日的時刻表尚未查證。出發前請用Korail+ App（코레일+；自2026年9月1日合併後，KTX和原SRT列車都在這裡訂票）或在車站查詢列車，並預訂下午或晚上的班次：元旦早上停車場停滿、道路壅塞，離開海岬要花很長時間。
停車
廣場停車場（大甫虎尾串停車場、虎尾串迎日停車場）免費。跨年夜市政府會增設臨時停車場並實施交通管制：2022至23年，12月31日下午至1月1日早上禁止車輛進入廣場和海岸道路，在大甫中學旁的農地開設了約2,500個車位的臨時停車場（停滿即關閉），約180名公務員和志工在進入道路、929號地方道和村裡疏導交通。2023至24年停車位增加了約1,500個，主要路口有警察執勤；2024至25年指定停車場停滿，道路兩旁停滿了車。
在韓國，Google 地圖可以查詢火車、地鐵和公車路線，但還不支援步行和開車導航；從車站步行前往時，Naver Map 或 Kakao Map 較可靠。

節慶前後順遊
在不錯過接駁車與回程末班車的前提下，節慶前後可以順道去的地方。
1883年通商條約後日本人在九龍浦港區居住留下的房屋，僅存的幾棟由浦項市整修成日本人家屋街，也是電視劇《山茶花開時》的拍攝地。可在12月31日下午前往海岬的路上順道一遊，並早點動身，因為通往廣場的道路下午就開始交通管制。九龍浦以秋刀魚乾（과메기）和冷生魚片湯（물회）聞名，適合在漫長的夜晚前早點吃晚餐。
怎麼去：從廣場沿海岸搭計程車，不到約10公里（韓國觀光公社距離）；公車路線未查證
韓國唯一的燈塔專題博物館，1985年開館，2022年擴建後面積擴大了一倍，收藏2萬多件與燈塔和航標相關的藏品，有讓孩子可以進去探索的燈塔模型和面海的露臺，旁邊就是虎尾串燈塔。12月31日（週四）應於09:00–18:00開放（17:30停止入館，免費；週一休館），可在晚間節目開始前參觀；1月1日是否開放尚未確認。2025至26年，天黑後燈塔成了媒體立面秀的投影幕。
怎麼去：從廣場步行約120公尺（韓國觀光公社）；免費

日出後離開海岬很慢：2025至26年約有50,000人到場，停車場停滿，進入道路壅塞，也沒有資料顯示有接駁車。不必跟著第一波人潮離開，可以先吃年糕湯，等道路疏通再走；從浦項回程的KTX請訂下午或晚上的班次，不要訂早上的。

- The Pohang Culture Foundation festival page (phcf.or.kr; the old festival.phcf.or.kr address now returns an error page) could not be read in full, so any official shuttle, traffic-control or parking notice there was not read.
- Shuttle buses: no shuttle from Pohang Station or the bus terminals to Homigot was documented for any recent edition; whether the city runs one on New Year's Eve is unknown.
- Traffic control for 2023–24 and 2025–26 (roads, closing times, temporary car parks) not found; the 16:00 vehicle restriction and the 2,500-car lot are from the 2022–23 plan.
