どんな祭り？
虎尾串は浦項の東の端にある岬で、朝鮮半島の「虎の尾」にあたり、本土で毎朝いちばん早く日が昇る場所のひとつです。海辺の広場は、新千年を記念して作られた青銅の「相生の手」（상생의 손）で知られています。広場に立つ高さ5.5mの左手と、海の中に立つ高さ8.5mの右手の一対で、晴れた朝には海の手の横から太陽が昇ります。
市は1999年の新年からここで日の出祭りを開いており、2000年と2001年の1月1日の祭りは国の指定を受けました。2025～26年が第28回です。祭りは夜通し続きます。2025～26年は12月31日14:00に広場が開き、仮面づくり、運勢占い、農産物市場、フードトラック、ポップアップストアが並びました。23:00ごろに前夜祭の公演が始まり、続いて虎尾串灯台へのメディアファサード上映、真夜中のカウントダウンと花火、虎と馬の踊りがありました。エアドーム型テントと寒波シェルターでは、映画上映や「見えるラジオ」で夜を過ごせました。1月1日06:50からは国楽、仮面舞、綱渡りを組み合わせた儀式の公演と、浦項のその年の四字熟語の発表があり、07:33ごろに日の出を迎えました。無料のトック（新年の伝統料理の餅入りスープ）は07:30から3,000食分のミールキットで配られました。2019～20年は10,000食分でした。
来場者は2025～26年が約50,000人、2023～24年が約30,000人です。公式行事は5年で4回中止されました。2020～21年と2021～22年は新型コロナで広場も閉鎖、2022～23年は新型コロナと群衆事故の防止のため、2024～25年はチェジュ航空機事故後の国家哀悼期間のためです。2024～25年はそれでも約22,000人が訪れ、市はトックを配り、追悼スペースを設けました。
注意点もあります。吹きさらしの岬は寒く風が強く（2026年の夜明け前は−6℃、体感温度は約−10℃）、雲で太陽が隠れることも多く（2024年がそうでした）、大晦日は岬への道路が規制されて渋滞します。また市内からのシャトルバスの記録もないため、タクシーか車での移動と、浦項での宿泊を計画しましょう。

こんな人におすすめ： 韓国らしいお正月を体験したい旅行者におすすめです。何万人もの韓国の人たちと夜を明かして初日の出を見て、トックを食べられます。夜明けの「相生の手」を撮りたい写真好きにも向いています。一方、海風の中で約−6℃の屋外の夜に耐えられない人、渋滞が苦手な人、元日の朝に市内へ戻るシャトルの記録がないことが気になる人には向きません。

ソウルから
ソウル駅から浦項駅までKTXで約2時間20分～2時間30分です。水西（スソ）駅発の列車もあり、2026年9月1日のKTXとSRTの統合以降は、どちらもKorail（韓国鉄道公社）のアプリと英語サイトで予約できます。浦項駅は市の北西のはずれの興海邑にあり、虎尾串は南区・虎尾串面の岬の東の端にあるので、最後はタクシーを使います。祭りのシャトルの記録はなく、市内バスの路線とタクシーの所要時間は当サイトでは確認していません。東ソウル総合ターミナルから浦項ターミナルへの市外バスもあります。交通規制が始まる前、12月31日の午後までに浦項に着くようにしましょう。
釜山から
東海線の列車が釜田（プジョン）駅から浦項駅まで、2026年10月の時刻表で1日7本運行しています。一般室でKTX-Eumは1時間28分～1時間30分（₩18,100）、ITX-Maeumは1時間58分～2時間06分（₩13,900）です。または海雲台市外バス停留所から浦項ターミナルまで市外バスがほぼ毎時1本、所要1時間28分、優等₩15,200です。その後はタクシーで虎尾串へ。祝日の1月1日に帰るときは、出かける前に列車をKorail+アプリ（코레일+）か駅で、バスをターミナルで確認してください。
浦項駅（KTX）から会場まで

シャトルバス
2022～23年から2025～26年の回について確認した市の計画や報道には、浦項市内（駅やバスターミナル）から虎尾串へのシャトルバスの記載がありませんでした。タクシーか車で行く計画を立てましょう。観光バスには専用の駐車スペースがあり、2022～23年の交通計画ではテチョン橋（대천교）の海岸道路に大型バス約30台分が用意されました。
帰り方
祭りは日の出とトックのあと、1月1日の09:00ごろまで続きます。浦項駅からソウル駅まではKTXで約2時間20分～2時間30分ですが、2026年10月の時刻表を掲載する第三者サイトでは、日中の浦項発ソウル駅行きの列車の間隔が大きく空いていました（このサイトは一部の列車しか載せていないようです）。2027年1月1日の時刻表は確認していません。出かける前に、列車をKorail+アプリ（코레일+。2026年9月1日の統合以降、KTXと旧SRTの列車はここで予約）か駅で確認し、午後か夜の列車を予約しましょう。元日の朝は駐車場が満車で道路も混雑し、岬から出るのに時間がかかります。
駐車場
広場の駐車場（大甫虎尾串駐車場、虎尾串日の出駐車場）は無料です。大晦日には市が臨時駐車場を設けて交通を規制します。2022～23年は12月31日の午後から1月1日の朝まで広場と海岸道路への車の進入が禁止され、大甫（テボ）中学校の横の農地に約2,500台分の臨時駐車場が設けられ（満車で閉鎖）、約180人の職員とボランティアが進入道路、929号地方道、集落で交通誘導をしました。2023～24年は駐車場が約1,500台分増やされ、主な交差点に誘導の人員が配置されました。2024～25年は指定の駐車場が満車になり、道路沿いに車が並びました。
Google マップは韓国では電車・地下鉄・バスの経路を表示できますが、徒歩や車のルート案内にはまだ対応していません。駅から会場までの徒歩ルートは、NAVERマップかカカオマップのほうが確実です。

GS25、CU、セブン-イレブンなどのコンビニで購入でき、チャージも同じ店で現金でできます。ほとんどの都市の地下鉄・バスと、ほとんどのタクシーで使えます。
地図アプリ
徒歩やバスのルート検索にはNAVERマップかカカオマップを使いましょう。Google マップは韓国ではまだ徒歩ルートを案内できません。どちらのアプリも英語表示に切り替えられます。NAVERマップはメニュー（≡）→設定→言語で切り替えでき、日本語・中国語も選べます。カカオマップはメニュー（≡）→設定→アプリ設定→言語で切り替えます。項目が見当たらない場合は、スマートフォンの言語設定を変えてからアプリを開き直してください。小さな店の名前や一部の口コミは韓国語のままです。

祭りの前後に寄れる場所
シャトルバスや帰りの終電・最終バスに間に合う範囲で、祭りの前後に立ち寄れる場所です。
1883年の通商条約のあと日本人が住んだ九龍浦の港町の家並みで、わずかに残った家屋を浦項市が日本人家屋通りとして整備しました。ドラマ『椿の花咲く頃』のロケ地でもあります。12月31日の午後、岬へ向かう途中に寄り、早めに移動しましょう。広場へ向かう道路の交通規制は午後から始まります。九龍浦はクァメギ（サンマの半干し）とムルフェ（冷たい刺身のスープ）で知られ、長い夜の前の早めの夕食にぴったりです。
行き方：広場からタクシーで海沿いに約10km以内（韓国観光公社の距離）。バス路線は未確認
韓国で唯一の灯台専門の博物館で、1985年に開館し、2022年に2倍に拡張されました。灯台と航路標識に関する20,000点を超える資料、子どもが中に入れる灯台の模型、海を望むテラスがあり、隣に虎尾串灯台が立っています。12月31日（木）は09:00～18:00に開館しているはずなので（入館は17:30まで、無料、月曜休館）、夜のプログラムの前に見学しましょう。1月1日の開館は確認できていません。2025～26年には、日が暮れると灯台がメディアファサード上映のスクリーンになりました。
