Notes on the 2026 edition
Theme 진남관, 빛으로 재건하다 ('Jinnamgwan, rebuilt in light'). Apparently the first time the national programme has come to Yeosu: Yeosu was not among the eight 2025 sites, and Jinnamgwan was under repair from December 2015 until 2025. It is the last of 12 sites in 2026, which run from Jinju (14 August–6 September) to Yeosu. Hosted by the Korea Heritage Service, the provincial government and Yeosu City; run by the National Heritage Promotion Agency (070-8064-0807). The culture ministry listing warns that details may change.
About the festival
National Heritage Media Art at Jinnamgwan is a free evening light show in Yeosu's old harbour district: projections and media façades on Jinnamgwan, a 1599 naval hall and National Treasure, on the Gosodae memorial site and on the turtle-ship replica in Yi Sun-sin Square tell the story of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. It runs 9 October–8 November 2026, 19:30–21:30 nightly except Tuesdays and special closure days around the 19 October Yeosu–Suncheon memorial, with an AI 'Yi Sun-sin', a stamp tour and weekend flea markets. From Seoul, take the KTX from Yongsan to Yeosu EXPO Station (about 2 h 50 m–3 h 10 m, ₩45,400), then a taxi; no 2027 edition has been announced.
Transport, booking, crowd and accessibility details are on the main National Heritage Media Art at Jinnamgwan, Yeosu page, which covers every edition.
