Notes on the 2026 edition

Nine days instead of five, to spread visitors; safety staff stayed on to 12 April. Lotte's pink lighting started on 27 March, a week before the festival, and its 'Spring in Jamsil' programme ran to 12 April. Songpa-gu counted 9.01 million visits to the lake and nearby streets over 27 March–12 April, about 260,000 of them by foreign visitors (130,000 in 2025).

About the festival

The Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival is Songpa-gu's free spring festival around Seokchon Lake, beside Lotte World Tower in south-east Seoul, where about 1,000 king cherry trees line a lit lakeside path of about 2.5 km. The 2026 edition ran 3–11 April; the 2027 dates follow the bloom and are expected between late March and mid-April, announced only about ten days ahead. Take Line 2 or Line 8 to Jamsil Station, Exit 2 or 3, and walk about five minutes.
