Notes on the 2025 edition

Fireworks were cancelled because of the wildfires and the political situation. Because the bloom ran late, a Seoul city citizen report says the festival period was extended to 13 April; Songpa-gu counted 8.62 million visits to the lake and the Lotte World Tower area over 2–13 April. Visitors were asked to walk one way, counterclockwise; about 200 safety staff and volunteers worked with the police and fire services, with information booths, first-aid stations and a lost-child shelter.

About the festival

The Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival is Songpa-gu's free spring festival around Seokchon Lake, beside Lotte World Tower in south-east Seoul, where about 1,000 king cherry trees line a lit lakeside path of about 2.5 km. The 2026 edition ran 3–11 April; the 2027 dates follow the bloom and are expected between late March and mid-April, announced only about ten days ahead. Take Line 2 or Line 8 to Jamsil Station, Exit 2 or 3, and walk about five minutes.

Transport, booking, crowd and accessibility details are on the main Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival page, which covers every edition.
