Notes on the 2023 edition

18th edition, 16 days. About 460,000 visitors and an estimated ₩22 billion in direct economic effect. The city's review named too few original hands-on programmes and too little parking as the main weaknesses.

About the festival

The Mungyeong Apple Festival (문경사과축제) is a free harvest festival at Mungyeong Saejae Provincial Park in Mungyeong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, built around the Gamhong apple, a local variety that is in season only in October and averages 16.5 Brix. The 21st edition is running now, 17 October–1 November 2026, 09:00–18:00 daily, with growers' sales and tastings, orchard picking, an apple exhibition hall and family games. From Seoul, buses from Dong Seoul Terminal reach Mungyeong-eup in about 2 h 20 m (₩14,200), and a free city bus covers the last 10 minutes to the park.

Transport, booking, crowd and accessibility details are on the main Mungyeong Apple Festival page, which covers every edition.
