Notes on the 2026 edition
26th edition. Dates confirmed on the organizer's site (bangeofestival.com, read 21 October 2026): its home page gives '기간 2026년 11월 19일 ~ 11월 22일(4일간)', venue 모슬포항 일원 and enquiries 064-794-8032, and a notice of 3 September 2026 announces the 26th festival (notices for the song contest and booth applications were posted the same day, and one for the event-agency tender on 3 October). We did not see daily hours, fees or a 2026 programme there, so the programme times above and the 2025 hours and fees come from a travel blog (jeju.com, updated 16 October 2026) and are provisional. Organized by the Southernmost Bangeo Festival Committee, with support from the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Jeju Province, Seogwipo City, the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (Suhyup) and Moseulpo Suhyup. The Jeju Citrus Expo runs 19–23 Nov 2026 in eastern Seogwipo.
About the festival
The Moseulpo Southernmost Yellowtail Festival (최남단방어축제) is a four-day harbour festival at Moseulpo Port in Daejeong-eup, on the southwest tip of Jeju, built around bangeo (Japanese amberjack, sold in English as yellowtail), which fattens in these waters from November. The 26th edition runs 19–22 November 2026 (Thursday to Sunday): the dates are confirmed on the organizer's site (bangeofestival.com), which announced the festival on 3 September 2026. Daily hours, fees and the 2026 programme are not yet confirmed. Entry is usually free, with bare-hand catching and sea-cage fishing paid (roughly ₩20,000 each); express bus 151 from Jeju Airport takes about 1 hour 15 minutes.
