Notes on the 2026 edition
Third edition; slogan '가을 달빛 아래, 전주 막걸리에 취하다!' (Get tipsy on Jeonju makgeolli under the autumn moon). Enquiries: Jeonju City, tel. 063-281-2826. Participant numbers are from the reports of 21 October 2026; an earlier report (6 October) gave 19 businesses (7 alley houses, 4 breweries, 8 anju restaurants).
About the festival
The Jeonju Makgeolli Festival is a free two-night rice-wine festival in Jeonju, Jeonbuk State, where local breweries and houses from the Samcheon-dong Makgeolli Alley pour Jeonju makgeolli with side dishes, alongside traditional performances and a retro DJ party. The third edition runs Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October 2026 at the main sports ground of Jeonju Vision University, 15:00–22:00 on both days. Entry is free, and drinks and food are paid at the booths. From Seoul, take the KTX from Yongsan to Jeonju (about 1 h 40 m, ₩31,600), then a taxi to the campus.
