Notes on the 2025 edition

40th edition, a Wednesday. Hosted by the Haeundae District Development Council with Haeundae-gu and Busan city as sponsors; contact 051-749-4061. The burning went ahead on the day (Yonhap photo, 12 Feb 2025).

About the festival

The Haeundae Dalmaji Hot Spring Festival (해운대달맞이온천축제) is Haeundae's Jeongwol Daeboreum festival: on the first full moon of the lunar year, a large pine moon house (daljip) hung with people's wishes is set alight on Haeundae Beach in Busan at the minute of moonrise, after an afternoon of folk dance and rituals. The 41st edition was on 3 March 2026, with the burning at 18:11. The next is expected on Sunday 21 February 2027, Daeboreum in the KASI calendar, though Haeundae-gu has not announced it. Entry is free; take Busan Metro Line 2 to Haeundae Station, Exit 3 or 5.

Transport, booking, crowd and accessibility details are on the main Haeundae Dalmaji Hot Spring Festival page, which covers every edition.
