Notes on the 2025 edition
Fourth edition (YTN). Unlike 2024, it shared dates with the Time Travel Festival. Afterwards the city's festival committee praised the half-portion system but noted long waits, ingredients selling out early and uneven demand between famous and lesser-known restaurants, and suggested holding the two festivals apart.
About the festival
The Gunsan Jjamppong Festival (군산짬뽕페스티벌) is a free street-food festival in the old port district of Gunsan, Jeonbuk State, where about 20 booths from local Korean-Chinese restaurants and TV chefs sell the city's spicy jjamppong noodle soup, in half portions so you can try several. The 2026 edition ran 9–11 October around Baengnyeon Plaza in Jangmi-dong, 12:00–22:00, and drew about 80,000 people. 2027 dates have not been announced, though the last two editions both opened on 9 October. Entry is free and you pay per dish; express buses from Seoul Central City take just under 3 hours (from ₩16,400).
Transport, booking, crowd and accessibility details are on the main Gunsan Jjamppong Festival page, which covers every edition.
