Notes on the 2025 edition
19th edition, 101 days. KTO's festival listing (updated 25 Nov 2025) and Gyeonggi Province's December 2025 magazine give the same dates. A travel blog's 29 Nov 2025–29 Mar 2026 dates and higher festival prices were not confirmed by either.
About the festival
The Lighting Festival at the Garden of Morning Calm (아침고요수목원 오색별빛정원전) fills a 100,000-pyeong private arboretum in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do, about 65 km north-east of Seoul, with LED light displays every winter, lit from sunset (about 17:00) to 21:00 and to 23:00 on Saturdays. The 19th edition ran 5 December 2025–15 March 2026; 2026–27 dates are not announced, but recent editions opened on the first Friday of December and closed on a Sunday in mid-March. The lights are included in the garden's normal paid admission, recently about ₩7,000–11,000 depending on age. Take ITX-Cheongchun to Cheongpyeong Station, then a taxi of about 15 minutes.
Transport, booking, crowd and accessibility details are on the main Lighting Festival at the Garden of Morning Calm page, which covers every edition.
