누들대전축제는 대전일보사가 주최하고 대전광역시가 후원하는 대전의 대표 미식축제이다. 대전의 새로운 관광자원 발굴을 위해 기획된 이 축제는 전국 최대 규모를 자랑하는 칼국수, 그리고 세대를 이어온 원조의 맛까지 다양한 면요리를 한자리에서 즐길 수 있는 특별한 장으로 마련된다. 올해 축제에서는 세계 각국의 면요리를 맛볼 수 있는 ‘글로벌 누들존’, 지역 조리학과 학생들의 창의적 도전을 확인할 수 있는 ‘누들마스터경연대회’, 역대 누들축제 주제관, 그리고 유명 셰프들이 선보이는 화려한 ‘스타셰프 쿠킹쇼’ 와 모두가 즐길수 있는 다채로운 프로그램이 마련되어 있다.

112 for police, 119 for fire and ambulance. Both are free from any phone. Police on 112 can add an English or Chinese interpreter to the call.
Buy one at a convenience store such as GS25, CU or 7-Eleven and top it up there with cash. It pays for subways and buses in most cities, and for most taxis.
Use Naver Map or Kakao Map for walking and bus directions; Google Maps does not yet give walking directions in Korea. Both apps can be switched to English. Naver Map: Menu (≡) → Settings → Language (Japanese and Chinese also available). Kakao Map: Menu (≡) → Settings → App settings → Language. If the option is missing, change your phone’s language and reopen the app. Small shop names and some reviews stay in Korean.
Book trains on Korail’s English site and express buses on Kobus. Holiday weekends sell out first.

The Daejeon Science Festival is a free science fair run by Daejeon city with the Ministry of Science and ICT at Daejeon Convention Center and Expo Science Park, about an hour from Seoul by KTX. The 2026 edition ran 17–19 April, 10:00–18:00, together with the national Korea Science Festival; 2027 dates are not set.
