Program
- Three walking courses of about 13–14 km (4–5 hours) from the Jirisan History and Culture Center in Masan-myeon, Gurye, finishing in Gurye town (Seosicheon sports park per Jeonbuk Ilbo; Gurye Public Stadium per a festival directory)
- Side eventsa makgeolli tasting quiz with brews from six Jirisan-area towns, a Gurye bread tour, a make-your-own beoksu (wooden guardian post) workshop, busking on the trail, regional booths and a local-liquor festa
Notes on the 2024 edition
Billed as the 2024 Jirisan Dulle-gil Walking Festival and held alongside the 5th Asia Trails Conference. Registration closed on 22 Oct through atcjirisan.com or Korail Tourism Development. The six municipalities hosted it with the Western Regional Office of the Korea Forest Service; the trail organisation Supgil and the Asia Trails Network ran it. Fee not found.
About the festival
The Jirisan Walking Festival, or 'Jirisan Picnic' (지리산소풍), is a one-day group walk on the Jirisan Dulle-gil, the trail that circles Jirisan; it began in 2011 and moves between the counties around the mountain. The 2026 edition is on Saturday 24 October in Sancheong, Gyeongsangnam-do: an approximately 12 km loop from Sancheong County Citizens' Park, 09:00–17:00, with check-in from 08:30. Registration costs ₩20,000 (online until 22 October, 17:00), and every walker gets a ₩10,000 Sancheong Love gift certificate and a souvenir.
