AdmissionPaid. Gate tickets run from about ₩3,000 (children and seniors) to about ₩7,000 (adults), with youth and soldiers in between, and cost about 10% less in advance. Adult and youth tickets have included a coupon worth about ₩1,000–2,000, spendable at festival booths and nearby shops. Culture Nuri cards accepted. Free-entry categories were not confirmed for this festival.

This would be the 29th edition. The county's 2026 work plan budgets ₩100 million to prepare the 30th edition, in 2028.

About the festival

The Hampyeong Butterfly Festival (함평나비대축제) is a spring festival for families at Hampyeong Expo Park in Hampyeong, Jeollanam-do, where children release and feed live butterflies among flower beds, insect halls and play areas. The 28th edition ran 24 April–5 May 2026, 09:00–18:00, and drew about 236,000 visitors; the 2027 edition is expected in late April to early May but had not been announced as of 19 October 2026. Entry is paid: gate tickets run from about ₩3,000 to ₩7,000 depending on age, about 10% less in advance, and the adult ticket has included a coupon worth about ₩2,000 to spend in Hampyeong. From Seoul it is about three hours by KTX to Gwangju Songjeong and a bus, and on eight festival days in 2026 KTX trains also stopped at Hampyeong Station.
