Seoul Shinmun (24 May 2025) gives 27 May–3 June in the body text and '28th, eight days' in the lead; Kukinews (1 May 2025) states 27 May–3 June.

About the festival

Gangneung Danoje is Korea's oldest surviving community festival, a UNESCO-listed eight-day event on the Namdaecheon riverside in Gangneung, Gangwon, built around Dano (5th day of the 5th lunar month). The 2026 edition ran 15–22 June; 2027 is expected 5–12 June, with Dano on 9 June. Admission is free. Go for the daily shamanic Danogut rites and the Gwanno mask drama at the festival altar.

Transport, booking, crowd and accessibility details are on the main Gangneung Danoje Festival page, which covers every edition.
